LOL. Interesting article about the cracked nuts in here. Contrasting them against other expat FB forums for Hanoi and Danang. Which I'm also a member of (along with 8 other expat FB forums). And I have to say, yes, this group tends to be far more negative. Compare that with Hanoi Massive, where most posts are started with a friendly greeting (I.e. "Massive Oi!"). But even with all the negativity, this group is by far one of the most interesting and unique of all the expat groups I've seen.

Des Snowdon Its a shame that people here & evidently the author of this, tend to focus on negativity. A lot of the negativity can simply be brushed off & I am certain the humor here wipes the floor with any attempts at any humor in other groups. Nice article, horribly laid out web site/page. Now on with the humor, name calling & general cynicism. As you were, case closed!

Kavit Tural Sumud Ah, you know I add sharp moments of sharp negativity at times; but fools make my brain eat itself. That said, I love this forum to death. Innocuous expats (and their forums) are the worst. I'd rather have my hand eaten by a rat then read them. Most expat groups give the perception (and likely reality) that expats are just monotonous meatpuppets in a transplanted locale.

Des Snowdon ^ I agree & am thinking that these super positive cheerful delightful group in Danang do not have to face the hard, uncompromising life in the unforgiving, harsh world of Saigon. Perhaps they tried & had to flee to Danang for a life of peace & tranquility. Saigon & this group are for those with a soul, an ability to face the trials of life. YAY Saigon & double yay to this group. That is sarcasm with a sprinkle of positivity, I apologise for that, lets keep it somber.

David Carroll Bilbo Mcbaggins: Chris Fox is one of my favorite posters in here, despite being the most "negative". His rants against drinkers are hilarious. And I have a feeling the author is some expat in Hanoi with how he says they are funnier up there. Lol. Not even close. The article might be biased and full of bs, but that magazine (The Word Vietnam) really is one of the best magazines for Vietnam. I like their profiles on charities, pet adoptions, and start up businesses in Vietnam.
