Alvarez Christophe Well that article is about "forced marriage" mostly from China / Taiwan / South Korea if I understand it right. There are also a lot of US because a lot of US are in VN. In France there are a lot of marriage with foreigners too, in all country it happens. I personally met my wife in France while we were studying at university + party, it ends up she came in France from Vietnam but we fell in love with each others. We are married both in France and in Vietnam, and after 5 years living in France together we are moving out to Vietnam. What's the point with all of this ? If you see us in the street you will think it's bad or it's good, there is no point judging, things happen, happened and will happen, we don't choose love, it chooses us, and we are happy together. Culture difference is hard for those who are not open-minded and can't think farer than their nose, culture difference can be a good thing too, but now we have our own culture, because we are us, every couple think different, I saw many different persons in Vietnam, many different persons in couple in both our two country, some people are very similar from a country to another, some are very different in the same country, there isn't only one kind of Vietnamese girl or boy, and it's even more different when you think about foreigners. Foreigners can be from Asia, Africa, Europe, America, Australia and even from the continents they can be from very different country. The difference is huge between France and Russia, from South American and North American, from Algeria and Morocco, from Spain and Germany, etc, the different is huge between China and South Korea, and even in China the difference is between the city, also in France, in USA, from where you are from, from where you were raised, how you lived your life, and in Vietnam it's the same. There are difference between Tp.Vinh and Tp.Hochiminh, from a family and another, from two brothers. How can you judge because we are "white", even if I find Vietnamese girls more "white" than us, which in my opinion isn't beautiful and crazy to try to be the whitest girl in town but whatever (culture difference). The difference between people is a big plus, that's how you learn in life, and when you will find love, you will know it, and marry it, because you won't let go, whatever "love" is white, brown, black or I don't know what color.

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language, I've never went to any English speaking country and never tried to learn it seriously. Sorry for the length of the text, I don't even want to read it again myself grin emoticon

David Carroll I think the numbers are BS. Unfortunately I have to spend a lot of time at the same offices where marriage paperwork is dealt with in Bac Lieu province (one of the biggest Mekong provinces). On average I only see maybe 2-3 foreigners a week, out of hundreds that are applying. I think it's just more nationalistic propaganda by insecure bureaucrats to make Vietnamese think their women are being stolen by foreigners - just like how their oil is being taken by Chinese.

David Lyonz Kelly. I have surveyed this topic and it seems Vietnamese girls are not the most beautiful in the world. However, it seems that the percentage of ugly or average girls is much lower. So... again statistically it seems that Vietnam has a higher percentage of beautiful girls than anywhere else wink emoticon
