    I TRIED TO LEAVE. DENIED.
Why was I refused a visa extension?
Do I have to pay for an exit visa and for overstay fee?
I'm an American national in Saigon right now. My VN DN visa expired two years ago, back in 2015, December 9. Last entered VN from Cambodia by bus, 2015, March 9. My 3rd DN Visa extension denied around 2015, Dec. 9th. I was also denied departure from VN. My embassy told me to go to immigration.

But immigration told me to leave VN. But I was not allowed to. I tried seven or more travel agencies & companies to extend my visa but they said no. I tried to leave this Vietnam country and they said no. I talked to agents, lawyers, Vietnamese, foreigners, others, online, offline, for months. Immigration refused to answer my questions. They all broke Vietnamese laws through insufficient communication. That is a crime. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to fix this.

I wanted to ask her many things. She looked at my passport. I was just a number. There were others waiting in line. She did her quick check. She did not answer my questions. She told me I was bad. She told me to leave Vietnam. She said I was illegal. But I am not bad. So, she lied. She is wrong. I wanted to know more. She did not tell me more. She gave me a form to fill out for like an exit visa. She told me to fill it out and I left with the paper in my hand. But I wanted to know more.

I stayed in Vietnam for over a year and extended my visa every three months over and over again about five times in a row without leaving. My visa was a THREE MONTH VISA and I stayed in VIETNAM without leaving for over a year through extending the visa again and again. Why would somebody have a five year visa and not do what I did with a THREE MONTH VISA? Why do many foreigners do a visa run every 3 or 6 months? Why not extend like I did?

Joey Arnold A real 5 year visa is called a 5 year visa exemption certificate which seems to be different than the alleged five year visas. Some people tell me that the 5 year alleged visas are fake or not exactly what you may think. The 5 year exemption does not required the alleged every 6 months visa runs thing. And that is the problem that the alleged 5 year visa thing has. A real visa does not really require that unless if you are confusing the length of the visa with the length of how much time a visa can be extended through extensions and/or visa run renewal procedures.
