Be thankful u havent seen a single injury. I have seen far too many.
Dont be lulled into a false sense of security my friend. They happen and
the happen regularly. Head ls getting crushed under bus wheels or bikes
pulling out in front of lorries are the common ones. Not to mention the
head on collisions caused by people on the wrong side of the road.

not saying they don't happen and no I am not at all under the
impression that Ho Chi Minh City has safer traffic. In fact I'm quite
terrified at the notion of having to drive in this city. Fortunately
taxis are plentiful here and quite cheap

would love the fact that they made this actually walking street on
Saturday and Sunday all day but they need to have parking areas on both
entrances of the street and all the side streets leading into it need to
be cordoned off as well.... But as most things in life great ideas not
thought out will turn into crap

thing I've learned coming here is that there are no absolutes in
rules, particularly with traffic behavior. 10% of the drivers don't even
have licenses.. the way people drive here the roads should be flowing
blood and guts but I've been here for
almost 3 months and have yet to see a single accident or injury. This
might not be a 100% "Walking Street" but has never and will never be
one of the many "Car plowing-through-innocent-lives" streets in America.
