Joey Arnold Agreed. I see them. It makes me a little sad. Some people are a bit better at teaching than others, too.
Manage
Jamie Thompson From what I see and heard, they’re after the salary as English teachers are in demand in Vietnam.

Manage
Jamie Thompson Definitely need a permanent teachers like you. Most teachers stayed barely for a year and left.
Remove
Jamie Thompson I just saw a post about your visa. How is it possible that you overstayed for 2 years?
Remove
Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson,
first, my visa wasn't extended. I'm from the USA. Lived in Vietnam
since 2012. Made 4 VN visas n extended them. Been to Cambodia 2 times
before. But they didn't extend my visa that last time in 2015. They said
I was blacklisted. I wanted to know
more & they didn't tell me. I went to different agencies to get
help. Tried for months. And I was often teaching too at the same time. I
didn't want to leave Vietnam and abandon my students. I felt that I
might not be allowed back into Vietnam because of being blacklisted.
Don't know what kind of blacklist I might be on. It could be an
immigration and/or referral blacklist. So, I am not too sure. I got
busy. I had money, too but then gave it away to some people. Then I had
no money. Then I was trying to save money. Very long story. Very
confusing for me.
Manage
Jamie Thompson Reading
this confuse me as well. Now, what’s your plan? What if they found out
that you overstay for 2 years? Aren’t you going to try to do something?
Marry a Vietnamese and get a dual citizen here?🤣
Remove
Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson, I will try to save up enough money to make a new visa. I want to try to do that.
Manage
Jamie Thompson Have you tried finding agents to help you out?
Remove
Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson
I did that. They tried. They failed. After many weeks of trying, there
was one company that helped me out in 2013. But at that time, I had no
money because I gave it to this family.
Manage
Jamie Thompson Oh sorry to hear that! Are you still working at the moment?
Remove
Jamie Thompson If you’re not working, how will you be able to earn money to get visa? 😮

Alan Middleton Joey Arnold - do you have a bachelor's degree and TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/ ETC.?
Remove
Joey Arnold Alan Middleton
I am not a teacher. Your question is not relevant to what I may or may
not do or not do or have done or may have not done and so on and so
forth. I attended four colleges. I have some certificates. I have
degrees. I studied education, teaching,
counseling, discipleship, psychology, for years. Been teaching since
2005, which was twelve years ago. However, that is in the past. That was
long ago. What I may or may not be doing now might be maybe different
than the kind of things I did in the past.
Manage
Alan Middleton Joey Arnold - but you said here "teaching since 2012." Are you lying to me above or lying to her?
Remove
Jamie Thompson Alan Middleton I think he meant he started teaching since 2012 and has stopped.

I am trying to say a few things at the same time. There are illegal
things I am not doing and there are legal things I am doing. But we are
using the same word to describe two different thing. I switch back and
forth between legal and physical definitions of teaching according to
the law. Too often people muddy up the waters when talking about things.
Manage
Jamie Thompson You switch what back and forth? To be frank, I feel like you’re messing with my mind now lol
Remove
Joey Arnold Alan Middleton,
we are playing around with semantics. We are playing around with
definitions. There are so many ways you can define words. Legally
speaking, I am not illegal. I am not working illegally. I am not
employed from an ascended position from an ascended employer. There is a
difference.
Manage
Jamie Thompson You are consider illegal because you overstayed in Vietnam for two years dudeeeee
Remove
Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson,
I might say that I teach. But what does that even mean? According to
the law, legal teaching must be legal through an ascended employer as
opposed to descended customers. I might be a freelance teacher, but that
is not illegal. The law does not deal with freelance activity in the
way that I do it.
Manage
Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson,
I ma not talking about that. I am not talking about my visa. I am
talking about what I do as a fake teacher. I would not call myself a
fake teacher. But some call me fake. But I do not teach. I talk to
people. But talking is teaching. B...See More

Joey Arnold It
is illegal to have real work without a visa and work permit. I do not
do real work. I do not have a real job. I might talk to people. But that
is not real. Therefore, I am not violating those laws because I am not
doing what is illegal if I m not really doing anything at all.
Manage
Jamie Thompson As I told you, whether you’re working in Vietnam or not. Your existence in Vietnam is illegal. It’s common sense, Joey.

Joey Arnold Jamie Thompson,
2 things. Work and visa. These are 2 different things. I am trying to
talk about work in an isolated manner for a theoretical debate. Yes, the
visa thing affects the work thing. But I was arguing from an isolated
position absent from the first factor of the visa thing. What I said
about work is true. It is like the rock paper scissors game. From these
two things, visa beats work. The rock beats the scissor. You are focused
on the visa part which affects the work part. I know that. But apart
from that domino, what I said about work is true, technically, legally.
